Piotr Sagan

JI am a translator and interpreter of Spanish, Polish and English. I graduated at the Institute of Iberian and Ibero-American Studies the University of Warsaw, and later finished the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Studies in Translation and Interpreting at the Institute of Applied Linguistics, University of Warsaw. During my university career I participated in the Erasums programme and spent two semesters at the Univesitat de València, where I took an intensive course in Spanish-English consecutive and simultaneous interpreting. I am also a holder of the Cambridge English: Proficiency certificate. As a result of my personal cultural interests, I am also fluent in Croatian. I am currently based in Sopot, Poland.

I have been professionally interpreting and translating for more than four years. Throughout my career I have gained extensive knowledge and experience in such fields as technical translations (mainly architecture, civil engineering and constructions, energy), marketing, PR, finance, law and social science. I had also had the opportunity to translate to Polish a poetry book entitled Poesía Hípica by Spanish writer Pedro J. de la Peña, and made the transcriptions for the Mundo Maya project, dedicated to native people of Guatemala and southern Mexico.

My CAT tool of choice is SDL Trados, however, depending on my clients’ preferences I can also work with Wordfast or OmegaT. I am also a proficient user of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and ACDSee Pro programmes.
